Tissue Paper Tiles

So Friday came and went without a promised Technique, sorry about that but my nephew wanted us to go bowling and I just cant say no to either of those 2 cute boys. Then Saturday we had storms come thru in the morning and we lost power for awhile and I also needed to go and get the supplies I was missing to do the technique, so here we are today and I finally have gotten everything together so I can share this with you. Once again I got this technique off of the Carol Duvall show. You will need the following items:
2x2 unglazed tile
Stamp
black waterproof ink
tissue paper
chalks
cotton swabs
versamark
ultra thick embossing powder
toaster oven

Step 1: Stamp your image in black ink on a 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" square tissue paper

Step 2: Color image in with chalks and cotton swabs

Step 3: Ink up your tile with versamark. Pour ultra thick embossing powder over inked tile and shake off excess

Step 4: Put the tile into toaster oven (make sure you heat up the toaster oven first) for 4 min a 350 f or until the embossing powder is completely melted. (You will want to use the tray to put your tile on, its easier to get out)

Step 5: Take tile out of even and immediately lay your stamped tissue paper image into the melted embossing powder. Tap down all the edges until flat and then let cool.

Step 6: After the tile is cool enough to handle (about 15-20 min) repeat step 3-4 to give your tile a nice finish. Let cool

Step 7: You can now do several things with you decorated tile. You can either one: take super strength glue and glue a super strong magnet on back or you can make a coaster out of them. If making a coaster you will need 4 tiles and cork for the background. This is what I'm going to do with mine as a wedding gift, the problem is I have yet to figure out what image I want to do. Once I get it done I will post the finished project here.

Hope you have fun with this. This might even work on the bigger tumbled tile, I just haven't tried that yet. Have a wonderful Sunday. Until my next rambling :)
